The Canadian heartthrob completely turns the rapper's slow-tempo hip-hop jam into an acoustic ballad and performs a piano-driven rendition of his latest single 'Mercy'.

AceShowbiz - Shawn Mendes once again showed off his versatility during an appearance on BBC Radio 1's "Live Lounge" on Tuesday, December 6. Live from the BBC Radio 1 studios in London, England, Shawn decided to cover Drake's "Fake Love" off Drizzy's upcoming "More Life" playlist project.

Taking the stage alone in a black T-shirt, the Canadian singer only needed an electric guitar to transform slow-tempo hip-hop jam "Fake Love" into an acoustic ballad. He sang, "Somethin' ain't right when we talkin'/ Somethin' ain't right when we talkin'/ Look like you hidin' your problems/ Really you never was solid."

During his appearance on the show, the 18-year-old singer also performed a piano-driven rendition of his latest single "Mercy" off his album "Illuminate". He sang, "Please have mercy on me/ Take it easy on my heart/ Even though you don't mean to hurt me/ You keep tearing me apart."

The Tuesday show marked Shawn's second performance on "Live Lounge". He first performed earlier this year when he was still promoting his single "Stitches". He also decided to do a cover of fellow Canadian singer Alessia Cara's breakout hit "Here".
