The Guy Ritchie-directed movie and the horror sequel to 'Annabelle' are delayed, while the Dax Shepard-directed/written/starring movie will open earlier than expected.

AceShowbiz - Warner Bros. has shifted the release dates for its three major 2017 movies "King Arthur: Legend of the Sword", "Annabelle 2" and "CHiPs". The Guy Ritchie-directed movie and the horror sequel to "Annabelle" have been pushed back, while the Dax Shepard-directed/written/starring movie will open earlier than expected.

Previously set for a March 24 release, "King Arthur" is now set to open in U.S. theaters on May 12, on Mother's Day weekend. With its new release date, the movie starring Charlie Hunnam and Jude Law will compete against other big movies like Marvel's "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2" and Ridley Scott's "Alien: Covenant".

The March 24 slot now belongs to "CHiPs". The remake of the 80s cop drama of the same name moves up several months from its previous release date of August 11. It will be up against Lionsgate's "Power Rangers" and Sony's sci-fi flick "Life (2017)", starring Jake Gyllenhaal, Rebecca Ferguson and Ryan Reynolds.

"Annabelle 2" will fill the vacated August 11 slot. The second horror movie focusing on the demonic doll, which was introduced in 2013's "The Conjuring", is pushed back for three months from its original release date of May 19.
