AceShowbiz - Some villains usually team up to antagonize the lead character in a movie and can get along well with each other, but not with Director Krennic and Darth Vader in "Rogue One: A Star Wars Story". Ben Mendelsohn himself has revealed that his character's personality and the Dark Sith's (James Earle Jones) often clash even though both of them are on the same side.
"It's fair to say Lord Vader and he aren't friendly," said Ben during an interview with Empire. He went on to elaborate the reason why both of the antagonists don't get along with each other. "Darth is very much about the Force. Krennic is force," he said. "Not really down with the whole mystical thing."
The Australian actor also talked about Krennic's power struggle, saying, "He is truly a man that has made his own way up the chain through his own abilities. His weapon, for instance, is a very old type of blaster, because he's an old warrior dude. He's been put in charge of making this thing happen. And it's gonna get done!"
Ben previously told Entertainment Weekly that Krennic's perspective "obviously is that of a person who doesn't understand the Force. And Darth Vader comes at everything from the perspective of understanding the Force." He added, "So that I think is the thing that you see sort of separating Darth Vader from other characters with regards to a super weapon like this."
"Rogue One: A Star Wars Story" is coming to U.S. theaters on December 17. Directed by Gareth Edwards, the much-awaited "Star Wars" stand-alone movie also stars Felicity Jones as the main protagonist Jyn Erso. Other cast members include Diego Luna, Forest Whitaker, Donnie Yen, Riz Ahmed, Mads Mikkelsen, Jonathan Aris, Jimmy Smits and Genevieve O'Reilly.
