AceShowbiz - The 2016 American Music Awards continued. The event kept viewers entertained with exciting performances by a bunch of A-list musicians in the line-up including The Weeknd and Shawn Mendes.

The Weeknd stole the spotlight with his amazing performance of "Starboy", while Shawn delivered a medley of his "Illuminate" hits like "Treat You Better", "Mercy" and "Three Empty Words.

Soon, Fifth Harmony and Ty Dolla $ign were announced as the winner in the Collaboration of the Year category. Tim McGraw's "Humble and Kind", meanwhile, won the Favorite Country Song Award.

The highly-anticipated duo Ariana Grande Nicki Minaj later took the stage to perform their latest collaboration "Side to Side".

Bryce Harper and Teyana Taylor then presented Zayn Malik with the New Artist of the Year Award. The "Pillowtalk" hitmaker beat out Shawn, The Chainsmokers, Alessia Cara and DNCE.

John Legend performed his latest single "Love Me Now", before Prince's "Purple Rain" was announced as the winner of Top Soundtrack.
