AceShowbiz - The official tracklist of the "La La Land" soundtrack has been unveiled by Lionsgate and Interscope Records. The studios have announced that the soundtrack will be available on December 9, the same day Damien Chazelle's Oscar-contending musical opens in limited theaters.
Songs on the soundtrack were written by Justin Hurwitz, Benj Pasek and Justin Paul. The album was produced by Hurwitz, Marius de Vries and Steven Gizicki. Fans who pre-order the soundtrack will get an instant download of the first single, "City of Stars", featuring the main stars Ryan Gosling and Emma Stone.
There is also a solo version of the song, which is sung by Gosling in a beautiful scene that also appears in the first trailer. "City of stars. Are you shining just for me? City of stars. There is so much that I can see," he sings. "Think I want it to stay."
"La La Land" opens wide in U.S. theaters on December 16. The dramedy chronicles a romantic relationship between a dedicated jazz musician and an aspiring actress as they are exploring the joy and pain of pursuing their dreams.
It's supported by the likes of J.K. Simmons, John Legend, Finn Wittrock, Tom Everett Scott, Meagen Fey and Rosemarie DeWitt.
