'Deadpool 2': Find Out Details of Tim Miller's Disagreements With Ryan Reynolds That Led to His Exit
Movie

According to sources, the 'Deadpool' helmer left the sequel due to the disagreements between him and the 40-year-old actor about the sequel's tone and the casting of actor Kyle Chandler as Cable.

AceShowbiz - It was previously reported that "Deadpool" helmer Tim Miller left the sequel due to creative differences between him and actor Ryan Reynolds, who also serves as a co-producer. And now a new report has emerged, offering details about the "creative differences" between the two which led to the helmer's departure from "Deadpool 2".

According to Umberto Gonzalez of TheWrap, Miller and Reynolds clashed over the sequel's tone. Sources with knowledge of the situation told the site that the helmer wanted more of a "stylized" sequel, while the 40-year-old Canadian actor wanted to stay true to the "raunchy comedy style" that earned the first movie its R-rating.

Furthermore, the casting of "Manchester by the Sea" actor Kyle Chandler as Cable was reportedly the other reason why Reynolds wanted Miller to depart from the project. The Merc with a Mouth depicter didn't agree with Miller's casting choice, and it led to 20th Century Fox taking its marketable star's side which prompted Miller to quit.

Miller's departure from the sequel indeed shocked fans as well as filmmakers of other MCU movies. James Gunn was one of many directors who were disappointed that Miller left the project. He took to Twitter on Saturday, October 22 to address the issue.

"Honestly bummed about Tim Miller leaving 'Deadpool'," the "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2" director wrote. "He did an amazing job with the first one; I'd like to have seen where he'd go next."

With no new director having been announced, it's unclear if filming on "Deadpool 2" is still slated to begin in early 2017. However, the scribes of the first movie, Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick, will once again pen the screenplay for the sequel which is set for a January 12, 2018 release in U.S. theaters.
