Benedict Cumberbatch, Rachel McAdams and More Attend 'Doctor Strange' World Premiere

The British actor, who plays the titular sorcerer, was joined by McAdams at the Thursday, October 20 event which was also attended by Mads Mikkelsen, Tilda Swinton, Stan Lee and Robert Downey Jr.

AceShowbiz - The cast and crew of Marvel's "Doctor Strange" gathered in California for the world premiere of the superhero flick at the TCL Chinese Theatres. Benedict Cumberbatch, who plays the titular sorcerer, was joined by co-stars Tilda Swinton, Mads Mikkelsen and Rachel McAdams on the red carpet.

Cumberbatch looked dapper in his black suit. He was accompanied by his wife Sophie Hunter, who stunned in a matching black outfit with her husband. Swinton dazzled in a long-sleeve yellow dress, while McAdams looked gorgeous in her gray dress, showing off her shoulders.

Also attending the Thursday, October 20 event were Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige and former chairman of Marvel Comics Stan Lee. Other attendees included director Scott Derrickson, "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2" director James Gunn, Robert Downey Jr., Karl Urban, Chadwick Boseman and Michael Rooker.

"Doctor Strange" is coming to U.S. theaters on November 4. Directed by Scott Derrickson from a script by Jon Spaihts, it follows Doctor Stephen Strange who, after a tragic car accident, must put ego aside and learn the secrets of a hidden world of mysticism and alternate dimensions.

Based in New York City's Greenwich Village, he must act as an intermediary between the real world and what lies beyond, utilizing a vast array of metaphysical abilities and artifacts to protect the Marvel cinematic universe.
