AceShowbiz - Selena Gomez recently resurfaced in Tennessee two months after announcing hiatus from the spotlight. According to a source, the "Hands to Myself" hitmaker was treated in a mental hospital before relocating into a rehabilitation center in Tennessee.
Selena reportedly checked into Brookhaven Retreat, an all-women's facility known for its privacy. "It guarantees plenty of privacy because of the trees and fields around it," the source tells InTouch Weekly, "Her mom has kept the circumstances very secret."
According to the source, Selena's decision to get help was triggered by a "downward spiral" during which she "couldn't stop drinking and partying." Things were allegedly even worse than fans could even image before she checked into Brookhaven.
"If anyone knew how bad she was, they'd be in shock," says the source, adding she is expected to be there "for a few months."
The "Spring Breakers" actress is "in good spirit" during the treatment, the source adds, "She [recently] called some friends to tell them she's feeling confident that she can do this."
Over the weekend, Selena was spotted by herself in a local arcade near the rehab facility. She appeared relaxed and dressed comfortably in a cozy sweater and leggings. The 24-year-old singer apparently cut her hair short. She was photographed checking out a display of ice cream.
