The 'Sherlock' and 'Doctor Strange' actor joins the 70-year-old rocker to sing Pink Floyd track 'Comfortably Numb' at the Royal Albert Hall, much to the delight of concertgoers.

AceShowbiz - Benedict Cumberbatch always knows how to stir his fans' hearts. The British actor surprised audience at the Royal Albert Hall on Wednesday night, September 28 when he joined Pink Floyd's David Gilmour onstage to perform "Comfortably Numb" during the rocker's concert.

Rocking a blue jacket, the Oscar-nominated and Emmy-winning actor amazed the crowd as he showed off his singing skills while tackling the vocal section sung by Roger Waters on the studio version. "Who knew he could sing?" Gilmour asked the audience after they finished the song.

Excited concertgoers didn't forget to take pictures of Cumberbatch on the stage and some of them recorded the performance. They took to Twitter to rave about the "Sherlock" star's performance. "Benedict Cumberbatch knocks it out the park doing a duet with David Gilmour. Comfortably numb taken to a new dimension!" one user wrote.

Another posted, "Twitter you'll have to take my word for it but Benedict Cumberbatch just came out and sang Comfortably Numb with David Gilmour at the RAH." Another fan tweeted, "Benedict Cumberbatch just sang live on stage at the RAH with David Gilmour HOW AM I SUPPOSED TO SLEEP NOW ??!?"
