The 'Suicide Squad' actress is set to take the center stage when the NBC variety series returns on October 1, with The Weeknd as musical guest.

AceShowbiz - "Saturday Night Live" has finally announced the first host of its season 42, after asking fans on Twitter for suggestions about who should host the show this coming season. Margot Robbie has been tapped to tackle the duty for the season premiere on October 1 at 11:30 P.M. on NBC.

The 26-year-old actress will be joined by The Weeknd, who is set to release his new album "Starboy" on November 25, as musical guest. This will be Robbie's first time hosting the show, and The Weeknd's second time performing on the show. The "Can't Feel My Face" hitmaker previously served as musical guest on the long-running sketch series last year, when Amy Schumer was hosting.

Robbie is known for her role as Naomi Lapaglia in "The Wolf of Wall Street", Jess Barrett in "Focus" and Harley Quinn in "Suicide Squad". She also starred as Jane Porter opposite Alexander Skarsgard in David Yates' "The Legend of Tarzan".

"SNL" has added several cast members, Mikey Day (who was a writer on the show), Alex Moffat and Melissa Villasenor, to fill the void left by departing players Jay Pharoah, Taran Killam and Jon Rudnitsky. Meanwhile, Chris Kelly and Sarah Schneider have been promoted to co-head writers.
