Rumored contestant Amber Rose hints that Maksim will be her partner, while Olympic medalist Ryan is rumored to compete on the ABC show.

AceShowbiz - Maksim Chmerkovskiy may return to the "Dancing with the Stars" ballroom. The Ukrainian-born dancer and one-time Mirror Ball trophy winner is reportedly set to rejoin the dancing competition series for its upcoming season 23.

His brother Valentin Chmerkovskiy recently revealed some pro dancers who will star in the next installment, but Maksim's name was not included. However, rumored contestant Amber Rose hinted that she would be paired with Maksim as she recently tweeted a photo with the 36-year-old professional dancer.

Maksim last competed on "DWTS" in season 18, during which he and celebrity partner Meryl Davis won the Mirror Ball trophy. He returned as a guest judge in season 21 and 22. He's currently expecting his first child with "DWTS" pro Peta Murgatroyd, who will be sitting out this season due to her pregnancy.

Maksim's brother Valentin has confirmed he will return along with Witney Carson, Artem Chigvintsev, Sharna Burgess, Lindsay Arnold, Sasha Farber, Gleb Savchenko and Allison Holker.

Meanwhile, American swimmer Ryan Lochte, who recently made headlines for his "overexaggerated" story about being robbed at gunpoint in Rio, is rumored to join the cast. A source tells Us Weekly, "Doing 'DWTS' will be great for Ryan's image! He will be able to show America that he's a good guy who made a mistake. He's still an Olympic champion! He will be great on the show."

"The Bachelorette" star JoJo Fletcher and former "Wizards of Waverly Place" actor Jake T. Austin have also been reported as possible contestants on the dancing competition series.

The full lineup will be officially announced on "Good Morning America" on Tuesday, August 30, with the new season kicking off Monday, September 12 at 8 P.M. on ABC.
