Despite the 'Fast 8' on-set feud, the 49-year-old actor says Dwayne Johnson 'shined' in his role as Luke Hobbs in the 'Fast and Furious' film series.

AceShowbiz - Actor and producer Vin Diesel says Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson "shined" in his role as Luke Hobbs in the "Fast and Furious" film series. During the Facebook live stream on Friday, August 19, Vin spoke out to praise The Rock, despite the controversy surrounding the two muscled actors on the set of "Fast and Furious 8".

The 49-year-old actor claimed that he listened to fans' suggestions to add the former wrestler into the cast ensemble of the movie franchise. "The reason we brought Dwayne Johnson into 'Fast Five' was because of you," he said, addressing his fans.

In the almost-30-minute video, Vin had nothing but kind words to say about his co-star. "There was a girl named Jan Kelly who said, 'I would love to see you work together on screen.' So the role that was originally written for Tommy Lee Jones, we gave it to Dwayne and he shined in it," he said.

Vin's comment came after The Rock excluded him while praising his "Fast 8" co-stars. In his recent Instagram post, the wrestler-turned-actor thanked the crew and the cast but not the main star of the film which hits U.S. theaters on April 14, 2017.

"Thank you to our director @fgarygray for the vision and execution. Thank you UNIVERSAL for being tremendous partners as always, thank you to all my fellow co-stars for the daily effort and grind. Scott Eastwood you handsome sumb***h! Natalie Emmanuel I have a cold Budweiser ready for you and Tyrese Gibson you still have the biggest smile and forehead I've ever seen," he said.

The Rock added, "And a huge THANK YOU to our hard working production crew - the backbone of our business. Your kind words meant a lot to me last night - thank you! In the end, we all rallied, as great teams do, kicked ass and will deliver an amazing movie to the world. Proud of our entire FAST FAMILY."
