The former star of the hit FOX show says in her upcoming memoir that she's pregnant with now-husband Ryan Dorsey's baby in 2010, but chose to terminate her pregnancy for her career.

AceShowbiz - Naya Rivera could've been a mom when she was way younger. The former "Glee" star reveals in her memoir "Sorry Not Sorry" that she got pregnant back in late 2010, but decided to get an abortion for the sake of her career.

In an excerpt obtained by PEOPLE ahead of the book's release, Rivera says she found out that she's pregnant with Ryan Dorsey's baby just weeks after she broke up with him. She decided she didn't want the baby and terminated the pregnancy when she was taking a day off from filming "Glee".

Rivera writes in her book that she didn't tell Dorsey about the baby. "It was very scary to open up about it," she says. "It's not something a lot of people talk about, but I think they should. I know some people might read it and say, 'What the Hell?' But I hope someone out there gets something out of it."

That "someone" she hopes will get something out of her book is son Josey whom she welcomed with Dorsey last year after they got married in 2014. "I hope Josey will read it one day. I hope it gives him a better perspective on the issues women face. And hopefully he'll think I'm cool as hell," she says.

Elsewhere in her memoir, Rivera also opens up about the eating disorder she battled as a teen. She says she started avoiding food to cope with her parents' split and her stalled career.

"By the time I was a sophomore, I started feeling that what had begun as a game had maybe gone too far. I just avoided food at all costs," she shares. "If my mom had packed a lunch for me, I'd either trash it or find some excuse to give it away."

"I was so young and it just seemed to be the norm. Everyone was going through similar stuff," she explains. "I had no way of knowing if I was going through it worse. I was juggling my feelings and it makes me sad that there are girls still going through that 15 years after I went through it."
