Ahead of her performance at the 2016 MTV VMAs, the 'Make Me' hitmaker is auctioning the outfit she will wear to the event to raise money for the residents of Louisiana following the destructive floods.

AceShowbiz - Britney Spears is auctioning the outfit she will wear to the 2016 MTV Video Music Awards to raise fund for Louisiana flood victims. The "Make Me" hitmaker will mark her return to the VMAs stage after nine years on Sunday, August 29.

Teaming up with American Red Cross and CrowdRise, Britney, who grew up in Kentwood, Louisiana, is giving two winners either the outfit she is planning to wear at the VMAs or a trip to meet her in New York City before the show. Every fans who donates $10 has a chance to win one of the prizes.

A lucky fan who win the NYC trip for two will be pulled up on August 25, while another winner for Britney's VMAs outfit will be pulled on September 1.

"The American Red Cross is helping thousands of people in Louisiana affected by devastating flooding. Thirteen people died, and about 30,000 people have been rescued from the floods," reads the statement, "At least 40,000 homes have been damaged. The Red Cross has mounted a massive relief operation in Louisiana, helping to provide shelter, food and comfort right now to individuals and families in need."

"So far Red Cross disaster teams have opened dozens of shelters, provided thousands of overnight stays and distributed thousands of meals, snacks, water bottles and comfort items. Red Cross caseworkers are meeting one-on-one with residents to help people connect with resources, navigate paperwork and plan for the road to recovery," the statement continues.
