Michael Pena Will Return to 'Ant-Man and the Wasp'

The 'Ant-Man' scene-stealer will reprise his role as Luis in the follow-up to the 2015 movie which is expected to begin filming sometime next year.

AceShowbiz - Michael Pena is set to return to Marvel's "Ant-Man and the Wasp". The Hollywood Reporter, which primarily broke the news about Pena's casting in Sony's horror thriller "The Bringing", has reported that the "Ant-Man" scene-stealer will reprise his role as Luis in the follow-up to the 2015 film.

The sequel will also see the return of Paul Rudd as Scott Lang, Evangeline Lilly as Hope Van Dyne and Michael Douglas as Dr. Hank Pym. Peyton Reed will once again serve behind the lens. The helmer previously hinted at a greater role for Van Dyne, saying, "Every bit as much her movie as it is Scott Lang's."

"Transformers" scribe Andrew Barrer and Gabriel Ferrari as well as Academy Award winner Adam McKay ("The Big Short") are set to pen the script for "Ant-Man and the Wasp". Kevin Feige is attached as producer. The filming is expected to begin sometime next year for a July 6, 2018 release in U.S. theaters.

Pena recently wrapped filming Will Smith's "Collateral Beauty", which is scheduled to be released this year on December 16. The 40-year-old actor also stars in the upcoming "CHiPs" remake and lends his voice to Kai in "The Lego Ninjago Movie". His other credits included 2013's "American Hustle" and 2015's "The Martian".
