AceShowbiz - Gisele Bundchen stole the spotlight at the 2016 Rio Olympics' opening ceremony. The 36-year-old model hit the catwalk again as she represented her native country during the opening ceremony on Friday, August 5 at the Maracana stadium in Rio de Janeiro.
Donning a slinky dress with a high split by Brazilian designer Alexandre Herchcovitch, the supermodel sashayed her way from one end of the stadium to the other, while local artist Daniel Jobim performed bossa nova jazz classic "The Girl from Ipanema". It was a long walk of around 500 feet with 60,000 watching at the stadium.
"As I walk down tonight on the longest runway I have ever been on I will be sending out all my love and positivity. I am humbled and honored to be part of this historic moment for my country," the wife of Tom Brady wrote in an Instagram post ahead of the opening ceremony. "I believe that the unity is the key to creating a world filled with kindness, gratitude, peace, and love."
It was reported earlier this week that the original sketch would have a young black boy stealing something from Bunchen and running away with it, before he's eventually captured. It was allegedly reworked after it was met with severe backlash. The ceremony's creative director, however, played it down, claiming it was a "tremendous misunderstanding."
