On Thursday, August 4, the 'Alien' official Twitter page released the first behind-the-scenes video of the film and celebrated the 365-day countdown to the film release.

AceShowbiz - The official Twitter and Facebook pages of "Alien" movie released the first behind-the-scenes video of the highly-anticipated "Alien: Covenant" on Thursday, August 4. The new footage was shared along with the announcement of the 365-day countdown to the release of Ridley Scott's upcoming film.

Though the footage is very short, it gives a glimpse of a stasis chamber containing what appears to be Katherine Waterston's Daniel. The caption of the video reads, "Days to arrival: 365." Judging from the particular scene and using other films in "Alien" franchise as a guide, it will probably take place in the beginning of the film.

Scott directs the upcoming film from a script provided by Jack Paglen and Michael Green. Michael Fassbender is returning as android David from "Prometheus" along with Noomi Rapace who is set to reprise her role as Elizabeth Shaw. Other cast members include Demian Bichir, Danny McBride, Alex England, Billy Crudup, Amy Seimetz, Jussie Smollett, Carmen Ejogo and Callie Hernandez.

Set ten years after the event of "Prometheus", the next installment of the "Alien" franchise follows a colony ship bound for a remote planet on the far side of the galaxy. The crew discovers what they think is an uncharted paradise, but is actually a dark, dangerous world - whose sole inhabitant is the "synthetic" David, survivor of the doomed Prometheus expedition.

The film is scheduled to be released in U.S. theaters on August 4, 2017.
