AceShowbiz - The Teen Choice Awards is handing out awards for this year's winners at the ceremony which is currently taking place at The Forum in Inglewood, California. Justin Timberlake was among the early honorees, receiving the first-ever Decade Award. Kobe Bryant was presenting the award to "the King of All Media."
Timberlake highlighted equality in his speech. "Thank you Teen Choice. As a former teen a while ago, who's made a few choices along the way, I'm here to tell you you and your choices matter," he said, adding that he learned "to respect all people on the basis of their character, not what they did for a living or the color of their skin."
He continued, "I try to live my life working most closely with, making music with, and spending so much of my time with an amazing group of people - male, female, gay, straight, every walk of life. We are all different, but that does not mean we all do not want the same thing."
"I ask you to learn not from my example but from all the greats who came before me," he said, giving shout-outs to Michael Jackson, Garth Brooks, Elton John and Al Green. "We can be part of the solution, and not part of the problem," he said, before concluding, "Go on and become the greatest generation yet."
Other early winners included Chris Evans, Grant Gustin and "Pretty Little Liars". The "Captain America: Civil War" actor accepted an award for Choice Movie Actor: Sci-Fi/Fantasy, "The Flash" star Gustin was chosen as Choice TV Actor: Sci-Fi/Fantasy, while the Freeform series was named Choice TV Show: Drama.
