Jackie Chan Joins 'The Nut Job 2' Voice Cast

The 62-year-old actor is tapped to voice Mr. Feng, a highly territorial leader of a of city mice gang, in the sequel to 'The Nut Job'.

AceShowbiz - After lending his voice for Master Monkey in "Kung Fu Panda" film series, Jackie Chan joins the voice cast of indie animation "The Nut Job 2". The sequel to "The Nut Job" which already stars Katherine Heigl, Maya Rudolph, Will Arnett and Gabriel Iglesias has Jackie voicing a mice leader.

"We're happy to announce the addition of Jackie Chan to the cast of 'The Nut Job 2'," director Cal Brunker said, "Jackie brings a unique voice to our movie, and it's a real joy to be working with such a talented, award-winning actor and cultural icon."

In the animated film, the "Rush Hour 4" actor will voice Mr. Feng, the highly territorial leader of a gang of city mice. "The Nut Job 2" follows the adventures of Surly Squirrel when the evil mayor of Oakton decides to bulldoze Liberty Park and build a dangerous amusement park in its place.

Cal Bunker directs the animated film and co-writes the script with Scott Bindley and Bob Barlen. Barlen will also produce the film with Harry Linden and Sunghwan Kim. "The Nut Job 2" is set for release in U.S. theaters on May 19, 2017.

Jackie Chan also lends his voice to Master Wu in the upcoming "Ninjago". He will next be seen in "Skiptrace" with Fan Bingbing and "The Foreigner" alongside Pierce Brosnan ("Die Another Day") and Katie Leung ("Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part II").
