Sheriff Hugo Root is looking for his son Eugene who disappears after he met Jesse.

AceShowbiz - Where's Eugene? In the next episode of "Preacher", his whereabouts become a mystery following his tense conversation with Jesse in the fifth episode that aired July 3. His father Sheriff Hugo Root is, of course, looking for him.
In a preview for the upcoming outing, the Sheriff is interrupting Jesse's supper with Cassidy, Emily and Tulip. He's hoping to find his son with them, but Jesse denies that Eugene met him before he disappears. An extended look at the scene is offered in a clip.
"He Gone" airs Sunday, July 10 at 10/9c on AMC.
Jesse told Eugene to "go to Hell" during their tense conversation before the latter's gone. Asked by The Hollywood Reporter if Eugene does "go to Hell," Dominic Cooper says, "Well, we'll see. I can't say anything. But it definitely exists. That's become very clear. Maybe Jesse's guilt will get the better of him. But it certainly plays more on Jesse's conscience [in the future] than in the episode you just saw. It's definitely part of the dark side of him that changes his personality dramatically."
