The 'Once Upon a Time' actress will play a character named Valerie Vale, who is said to be the aunt of Vicki Vale.

AceShowbiz - "Gotham" is adding a new character to its upcoming season 3. Jamie Chung, who has a recurring role as Mulan on ABC's "Once Upon a Time", has been cast in a recurring role of Valerie Vale, a new employee at Gotham Gazette on the Batman prequel series.

According to TVLine which first reported the news, Valerie is described as "a crackerjack reporter dead set on uncovering the truth behind Indian Hill. Confident and dogged, she will do anything to get the scoop, and soon sets her sights on Gordon, who she believes is the key lead in her story."

Her surname reminds fans of DC Comics character Vicki Vale. At first it wasn't clear what her relation with Vicki is, but a source later confirms that Valerie is Vicki's aunt.

Vicki Vale, a grown-up Poison Ivy, Jarvis Tetch a.k.a. the Mad Hatter and the Tweedle brothers are going to be featured in season 3 of "Gotham". The second season finale also teased the arrival of Bruce Wayne's long-haired doppelganger.

"Gotham" returns with the new season Monday, September 19 at 8/7c on FOX.
