Amber Heard Puts Spousal Support Request on Hold to Focus on Johnny Depp Domestic Violence Case

The 'Rum Diary' actress has withdrawn her request for alimony because she felt it drew attention away from her alleged abuse.

AceShowbiz - Amber Heard asks judge to remove her request for spousal support from Johnny Depp. The 30-year-old actress retracts her alimony demand because it's "used against me to distract and divert the public away from the very serious real issue of domestic violence."

When Heard filed for divorce from Depp, she asked for $50,000 per month and a restraining order due to alleged abuse. Her request for spousal support was denied by judge but she got a temporary restraining order as she accused her estranged husband of assault.

"In light of the coordinated false and negative media campaign falsely depicting my attempts to attain a CLETS Domestic Violence Restraining Order as being financially motivated, I am hereby with drawing the request...for spousal support," she said in her court document.

However, Heard hasn't completely given up any chance of getting financial support from Depp. The next court hearing is scheduled for Friday, June 17 to discuss the restraining order. Depp is currently touring with his band Hollywood Vampires and was recently spotted on his private island in the Bahamas where he married Heard in 2015.
