Gomez struggled to finish 'Nobody' during a tribute to Grimmie at her Miami concert, while Puth dedicated 'See You Again' to the late songbird at his New York show.

AceShowbiz - Selena Gomez could hardly hold back her tears when paying tribute to Christina Grimmie at her Miami, Florida show over the weekend. The former Disney star, whose step-dad Brian Teefey was Grimmie's manager, got emotional as she performed "Nobody" in front of thousands of concertgoers.
Prior to starting the song, she already shed tears as she talked about Grimmie. "When she was 14, we met her and my parents and I signed her," she told the audience. "One thing about Christina and her family is that she holds her faith so closely to her. And I think it's not about a religion and it's not about anything or good deeds. It's just that she had faith, and I don't really understand how this really happened, but I would like to dedicate this next song to her."
Gomez then sat at the piano and beautifully sang "Transfiguration" with a lot of fans in the crowd illuminating the venue with their cell phones. Later, she stood up and followed up the song with "Nobody", which she struggled to finish as she choked up several times. At one point, she stopped singing and mouthed, "I'm sorry."
Grimmie, who was a former contestant on "The Voice", was part of Gomez's "We Own the Night" tour a few years ago. She was shot after her Orlando concert and was later pronounced dead at the hospital. Following the 22-year-old's death, Gomez took to Twitter Saturday morning to post a photo of them posing together. "My heart is absolutely broken," she captioned it. "I miss you Christina."

Gomez isn't the only musician friend of Grimmie who mourned her passing and paid emotional tribute to her at concert. Charlie Puth was playing a show in New York on Saturday when he dedicated his smashing hit "See You Again" to her.
"I was reading the news last night and heard that my good friend Christina Grimmie was killed, and I want to dedicate this song to her tonight. I've been upset about this all day, mainly because I just never got to say what I wanted to say to her, and I feel like this song perfectly captures that," he said before launching into the "Furious 7" song while playing the piano.
