The 33-year-old actor, who is best known for portraying Puck on 'Glee', was charged on Friday, May 27 in a federal indictment with receiving and possessing child pornography.

AceShowbiz - Mark Salling was charged on Friday, May 27 in a federal indictment with receiving and possessing child pornography. The "Glee" alum was indicted by a grand jury on two counts of child pornography following his arrest last December.

The first count alleges Mark used the Internet to receive a still image and a video depicting child pornography on December 26, 2015, featuring young girls. The second count charged the 33-year-old actor with possessing two videos depicting child pornography on December 29, 2015, also featuring young girls.

Sources tell Crime Watch Daily that many of the photos confiscated on Mark's electronic devices contain images of prepubescent children under the age of 10.

"Those who download and possess child pornography create a market that causes more children to be harmed," U.S. Attorney Eileen M. Decker said in a statement. "Young victims are harmed every time an image is generated, every time it is distributed, and every time it is viewed."

Mark was taken into custody on December 29, 2015 after the Los Angeles Police Department's Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force raided his home on a warrant. If the actor is convicted of receiving child porn, he faces a minimum sentence of five years and a maximum sentence of 20 years behind bars.
