This BET Awards Promo Looks Like a Diss at Madonna's BBMA Tribute to Prince

BET basically tells fans to expect a better Prince tribute during the 2016 BET Awards that's scheduled to take place June 26 at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles.

AceShowbiz - Madonna paid tribute to Prince at the 2016 Billboard Music Awards despite numerous criticisms and that fan petition. If you think her performance wasn't good enough, don't worry because BET has promised they'd honor the late music icon with a better tribute during the 2016 BET Awards.

The network has just shared a promo for their upcoming awards event. The 15-second clip posted on Twitter shows Prince's logo, purple-lit buildings and the sound of pouring rain. It concludes with a message that reads, "Yeah, we saw that. Don't worry. We got you."

Many are speculating that the shady message is a response to the songstress and her BBMA performance. Supporting the claims is the fact that the promo was released just minutes after Madonna finished her set, during which she covered "Nothing Compares 2 U" and brought out Stevie Wonder for "Purple Rain".

The 2016 BET Awards is airing live on Sunday, June 26 from the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles. The network hasn't announced which performers would be part of the tribute to Prince, who passed away last month at his Paisley Park, Minnesota home.
