Britney Spears Delays Release of New Single 'Make Me (Oooh)'

Robin Leach, who a few weeks ago said the single would arrive sometime this month, now reports the track has been delayed until 'later this summer.'

AceShowbiz - Britney Spears fans need to wait a bit longer until her new single comes out. The song called "Make Me (Oooh)", which according to Las Vegas Sun's Robin Leach was originally planned to be released sometime this month, has now been delayed.

Leach was also the one who reported the push-back, saying it was caused by "technical production difficulties outside Brit and her management's control." The single and its accompanying music video are now expected to arrive "later this summer."

"Make Me (Oooh)" will serve as the first preview of Spears' next album, a follow-up to 2013's "Britney Jean". She's reportedly scheduled to play it at this weekend's 2016 Billboard Music Awards, where she will also be honored with the prestigious Millennium Award. Plans to include the song on her setlist have now been scrapped.

"There's no point in Britney previewing it so far in advance if we don't even have a new release date yet," Leach reported. "She is like us truly saddened that matters outside our hands have set back the hoped-for schedule. We're told that it'll now be later in the summer, but we don't even know exactly when yet until production hiccups are resolved."

Spears is still set to perform at the BBMAs, though. She's going to bring some of her biggest hits to the event, which is airing on Sunday night, May 22 from T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. According to a just-shared Instagram post leaking the details of her performance, the 34-year-old will kick off the ceremony with a medley of "Work B***h", "Womanizer", "Slave for You" and "Toxic" among others.
