The singer was also named BMI's Pop Songwriter of the Year at the event which took place on Tuesday, May 10 at the Beverly Wilshire Hotel.

AceShowbiz - Taylor Swift added more trophies to her long list of accolades when she attended the 2016 BMI Pop Awards. At the event held at the Beverly Wilshire Hotel in Beverly Hills, California on Tuesday evening, May 10, the singer took home two awards including one that's named after her.

Swift was honored with the first Taylor Swift Award during the ceremony that honored the writers and publishers of the most-performed pop songs during the past year. She received the prize for her "incomparable creative and artistic talent and influence on music lovers throughout the world."

As previously reported, this is only the second time in BMI's 76-year history that the organization handed out an award named after an artist. Michael Jackson was the first to achieve that honor in 1990. In addition to the eponymous award, Swift earned the Pop Songwriter of the Year trophy thanks to a handful of most-performed songs off her chart-topping 2014 album "1989".

Wearing a sexy low-cut dress she teamed up with a choker, soft pink lips and dark-colored nails, Swift was joined by her family when she received her prizes. "I'm really super-relieved that BMI decided to give me the Taylor Swift Award because if they had chosen someone else to give the Taylor Swift Award to, I'd be kind of bummed about it," she joked in her acceptance speech.

"This night has been unbelievable. My whole family is here. My brother Austin and everyone else. My dad is filming on his phone," she continued. "Thank you for awarding my favorite part of my life and all the adventures that this career path has brought."

That night, "Uptown Funk" by Mark Ronson and Bruno Mars was honored as BMI's Pop Song of the Year. Sony/ATV was named BMI's Pop Publisher of the Year with 23 of the year's most-performed songs.
