The 23-year-old singer reportedly posted an insensitive, disrespectful comment on Instagram about the late singer just hours after his death.

AceShowbiz - It seems like Prince's fans were outraged by Justin Bieber. The "What Do You Mean" singer reportedly posted an insensitive, disrespectful comment about the late singer just hours after his death on Thursday, April 21.

The drama began after former California Breed guitarist Andrew Watt took to Instagram to mourn the death of the music icon. He posted a photo of himself wearing a T-shirt with the picture of the late musician and said that Prince was "the last of the greatest living performers."

This past Tuesday night before my show I was picking out an outfit...I was so tired from the past week of endless traveling and gigging that I grabbed my Prince shirt and said fuck it I'm gonna channel the purple one tonight...I didn't shower after the gig out of pure exhaustion...I went to sleep in that shirt and then I wore it again all day yesterday...today waking up to this news I am truly beside myself...devastated...the last of the greatest living performers...my guitar idol...his connection to ALL his instruments yielded a sexual transcending aura and the world is just less fucking cool without him walking on it... "Electric word life It means forever and that's a mighty long time But I'm here to tell you There's something else... The after world" #RIPPRINCE

A moment later, a screenshot of Justin saying, "Well not the last greatest living performer," surfaced on the internet. A lot of social media users then called out the ex-boyfriend of Selena Gomez and said that he should not have posted such insensitive comment.

However, Gossip Cop has set the record straight, saying that the story is entirely "fabricated." As it turns out, the screenshot of the Biebs' comment is fake and there's no evidence that he 23-year-old singer really made the comment. Bieber's rep also confirms to the site that the singer never posted the comment.

While it's true that he never posted the comment, Bieber has yet to pay tribute to the "Purple Rain" hitmaker on his Twitter or Instagram account.
