Mimi also asked for a moment of silence during the show at Paris' AccorHotels Arena which took place just hours after news broke that Prince passed away at the age of 57.

AceShowbiz - Mariah Carey is as heartbroken as everyone else is over Prince's death. After hearing the sad news earlier on Thursday, April 21, the diva honored the late musician by dedicating a song to him when she took the stage at Paris' AccorHotels Arena as part of her ongoing tour later that day.

"So it's a very sad day but we remember the life of somebody who will always be treasured," Carey said of Prince in front of the crowd before launching into "One Sweet Day" alongside two male vocalists who filled in for Boyz II Men. The group is featured on the original song that appears on Mimi's album, "Daydream".

She also asked for a moment of silence during the same show. "He was a friend to me too and he talked me through some times I really really needed somebody. He was an incredible person if you never got to meet him," she told the crowd. "I'm sure his music has touched every single person in here so let's have a moment of silence for Prince."

Prince died at the age of 57 after he was found unresponsive in the elevator of his Paisley Park Studios apartment in Chanhassen, Minnesota. Upon learning of the iconic singer's passing, Carey took to Twitter to post a picture of her and the Purple One posing next to each other. She wrote alongside the snap, "Genius, legend, inspiration, friend. The world will miss you. I'll never get over it."
