New 'Jumanji' Close to Nabbing The Rock and Kevin Hart
Movie

Schedules are being worked out for the pair who showed great chemistry at recent MTV Movie Awards and upcoming comedy 'Central Intelligence'.

AceShowbiz - The refurbished "Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle" may get a big action star and a heavy comedian on the lead. Reports are flying that Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson and Kevin Hart are in talks to co-star in the Sony reboot.

Both Johnson and Hart are among the busiest actors in town so a schedule is being worked out before they sign a deal to star in the film. Principal photography is expected to start this August in Honolulu, HI. However, sources told Variety that negotiations were heading into the positive direction.

Johnson, who is currently filming the "Baywatch" movie, is also starring on HBO series "Ballers". He's set to reprise his role in "Fast and Furious 8" this summer and film video game adaptation "Rampage" next. The plan is to shoot "Jumanji" before the filming of "Ballers" season 3 starts.

Meanwhile, Hart, who is fresh from hosting the 2016 MTV Movie Awards, is in the pre-production stage of his untitled stand-up project series. But it's his schedule to shoot "The Intouchables" this summer that would make things difficult with the "Jumanji" commitment. Together with Johnson, Hart is also slated to promote their action comedy "Central Intelligence" which hits theaters June 17.

Based on Chris Van Allsburg's original 1981 adventure book, "Jumanji" centers on a 12-year-old boy who becomes trapped in a board game in 1969 and is released 26 years later. Jake Kasdan is directing from the script by Scott Rosenberg and Jeff Pinkner. The film will hit theaters July 28, 2017.
