'American Idol' Series Finale: The Last Winner Is Crowned
TV

La'Porsha Renae and Trent Harmon are up for the champion title but only one walks home as the winner after the star-studded finale that features the return of former judges and contestants.

AceShowbiz - It's a defining moment for La'Porsha Renae and Trent Harmon on "American Idol" series finale Thursday, April 7. After singing for America's vote the night before, one of them became the new and last winner of the singing competition series. And the person who walked home with the title was Trent Harmon.

Trent praised God as he's showered with confetti. "God is real," he said while embracing the runner-up La'Porsha. He held back tears as he sang his winning song "Falling." Earlier that night, the last two finalists teamed up for a rendition of Marvin Gaye and Kim Weston's "It Takes Two".

"I'd like to say on behalf of us, thank you America for inviting us into your homes. Thank you to the contestants, to FOX for actually putting us on air, to you guys for actually being my best friends now, and I am going to miss you," he said to Paula and Randy.

Pregnant Kelly Clarkson was also back to perform "A Moment Like This" which made us feel even more nostalgic. Carrie Underwood teamed up with Keith Urban for a duet of "Stop Draggin' My Heart Around". Jennifer Lopez, meanwhile, performed her new song "Ain't Your Mama" live for the first time.
