The pop superstar will receive the prize given in recognition of 'her incomparable creative and artistic talent and influence on music lovers throughout the world.'

AceShowbiz - Taylor Swift has received multiple Grammys, AMAs, ACMs and other trophies from a bunch of other prize-giving events. Just when you think there's no more award she could win, the BMI (Broadcast Music, Inc.) has just announced that they would give away a new award named after the former country darling during the 64th Annual BMI Pop Awards next month.

The Taylor Swift Award is given to recognize the 26-year-old pop superstar's "incomparable creative and artistic talent and influence on music lovers throughout the world." "Taylor Swift has transformed pop culture through her songs, artistry and indomitable spirit," BMI Vice President of Writer/Public Relations Barbara Cane explained in a statement.

"She has had a profound impact, not only musically, but also through her personal conviction and commitment to create a standard that values and respects music for everyone. We felt it appropriate to award Taylor with an honor that is as unique and special as she is," she added.

Swift, however, isn't the first influential figure to have her name used for a BMI prize. In 1990, the organization gave the Michael Jackson Award to none other than Michael Jackson.

The 64th Annual BMI Pop Awards is taking place on May 10 in Beverly Hills, California. That night will also see songwriters Barry Mann and Cynthia Weil receiving the BMI Icon Award.
