Days after holding that origami unicorn, the 'Guardians of the Galaxy' star confirmed to have joined the sequel project in an important supporting role.

AceShowbiz - It was a pretty big hint that Dave Bautista shared over the weekend when a photo of him holding an origami unicorn emerged. The actor has delivered the exciting news himself and confirmed that he is indeed joining the "Blade Runner" sequel in an important supporting role.

In a Twitter video posted on Monday, April 4, Bautista said, "As speculated, I am proud and privileged and honored to announce that I am joining the cast of the new Blade Runner. I'm very excited about this project and very grateful that I was able to bring this news to you myself. I couldn't be more proud. Another dream come true."

The "Guardians of the Galaxy" star joins Harrison Ford who is reprising his role as Rick Deckard. Ryan Gosling and Robin Wright were also announced as part of the cast though their roles are yet known. There's also two other major female roles yet revealed and cast.

Co-writer of the original movie, Hampton Francher, is writing the untitled Blade Runner project but plot is currently unknown. Ridley Scott who directed the first film and is producing the second said at the 2015 AFI Fest, "We decided to start the film off with the original starting block of the original film. We always loved the idea of a dystopian universe, and we start off at what I describe as a 'factory farm' - what would be a flat land with farming."

Principal photography will begin this July to meet the January 12, 2018 release schedule. Cinematographer Roger Deakins reunites with "Sicario" director Denis Villeneuve in the project.
