AceShowbiz - Taylor Swift ruled the 2016 iHeartRadio Music Awards. The former country darling, who along with The Weeknd led the nominees with seven nods apiece, took home the most awards that night, including Female Artist of the Year which she won over BFF Selena Gomez, Meghan Trainor, Carrie Underwood and Adele.
Swift also bagged the Album of the Year Award for her latest chart-topping set "1989" that won the same title at the Grammys earlier this year. She additionally won in two other categories like Best Tour and Most Meme-able Moment. The former award was of course for her massively successful "1989" tour, which came in support of her 2014 record.
While receiving the prize, she gave a special shout-out to her boyfriend Calvin Harris whom she referred to by his real name, Adam Wiles. "For the first time I had the most amazing person to come home to when the crowds were all gone and the spotlight went out so I'd like to thank my boyfriend Adam for that," the 26-year-old singer said.
Justin Bieber trailed closely behind Swift with three awards in categories like Male Artist of the Year, Dance Song of the Year for "Where Are You Now?" that he recorded with Skrillex and Diplo, and Best Fan Army for his devoted Beliebers.
Drake and Twenty One Pilots were other acts walking away with multiple awards. The rapper earned the Hip Hop Artist of the Year title and his hit "Hotline Bling" was named Hip Hop Song of the Year. The rock duo, meanwhile, won the Alternative Rock Artist of the Year and Alternative Rock Song of the Year trophies. The latter was for "Stressed Out" off their most recent album, "Blurryface".
The 2016 iHeartRadio Music Awards, which is in its third year, was hosted by Jason Derulo at The Forum in Inglewood, California. Other big names included in the winner list are Adele (Song of the Year for "Hello"), Maroon 5 (Best Duo/Group of the Year), Foo Fighters (Rock Artist of the Year), Fetty Wap (Best New Artist), Calvin Harris (Dance Artist of the Year), Luke Bryan (Country Artist of the Year), The Weeknd (R&B Song of the Year for "Earned It"), Chris Brown (R&B Artist of the Year) and Mark Ronson (Best Collaboration for the Bruno Mars-assisted "Uptown Funk").
