AMC's 'Preacher' Reveals Shocking First Look at Arseface
TV

Fans of the comics must be familiar with the character, who is the son of an abusive sheriff.

AceShowbiz - Meet Arseface! Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg's "Preacher has unveiled a first look at the comic book character played by Ian Colletti. True to his name, Arseface has an ugly face created with prosthetic on the show.

As readers of the comics have known, Arseface is the son of an abusive sheriff. His face is the result of surviving a suicide attempt. "We could never afford that in CGI - it's a prosthetic rig," Rogen said of Colletti's transformation into Arseface. "That poor little f**ker has to wear that s**t on his face. He has a positive attitude about it, but I know it f**king sucks. He can emote a lot even with the thing on his face."

"Preacher" follows Rev. Jesse Custer (Dominic Cooper), "a tough Texas preacher who has lost his faith, has learned that God has left Heaven and abandoned His responsibilities. He finds himself the only person capable of tracking God down, demanding answers, and making Him answer for His dereliction of duty."

He's accompanied by Tulip O'Hare (Ruth Negga), his beer-guzzling vampire ex-girlfriend, on his quest for answers. His enemies include the Catholic Church, mysterious government operatives, and the immortal "Saint of Killers," released from heaven to hunt this rogue preacher down. Lucy Griffiths plays Emily Woodrow, a church organist and Jesse's loyal right hand, and Joseph Gilgun stars as Irish vampire Cassidy.

The supernatural thriller will debut Sunday, May 22 at 10 P.M. ET/PT on AMC.
