The 'California Gurls' singer is set to collaborate with the 'Jolene' hitmaker at the Academy of Country Music Awards on April 3.

AceShowbiz - Katy Perry is set to make an unlikely duet at the upcoming Academy of Country Music (ACM) Awards. The pop singer is expected to share the stage with Dolly Parton at the April 3 awards show. They will sing Parton's hits like "Jolene".

"She got the big idea, 'Why don't we sing 'Jolene' together?' Because she loves that song and since it's going to be one of the [television] movies I go, 'Yeah, why not?'" Parton tells Rolling Stone Country. "So I'm going to try to combine 'Coat of Many Colors' and 'Jolene.' "

Parton is going to receive Tex Ritter Award for her biographical film named after her own song, "Coat of Many Colors". It's an honor given to a movie featuring country music. Parton's 1982 movie "The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas" also got the prize.

"To be up there with the great stories like 'Coal Miner's Daughter' and 'O Brother' and 'Walk the Line', it's like you say, 'Wow, all those were feature films, and this one was just a movie of the week on television,' " Parton said of her biopic which premiered on NBC in December.

The upcoming 51st annual ACMs will be Perry and Parton's first duet together, but the former is actually no stranger to country music. Back in 2014, the "Teenage Dream" hitmaker collaborated with Kacey Musgraves for CMT's Crossroads.

The ACMs will be hosted by Dierks Bentley and Luke Bryan this year. It will feature other performances by Jason Aldean, Eric Church, Sam Hunt, Cassadee Pope, Chris Stapleton, Carrie Underwood and many more.
