Drake Plays Surprise Set at SXSW, Announces Plan to Tour

The Toronto native plays a bunch of his hits like 'Energy', 'Back to Back' and 'Summer Sixteen' for the crowd at Fader Fort in addition to teasing his new album and his upcoming tour.

AceShowbiz - Drake surprised a big crowd at the South by Southwest in Austin, Texas with a surprise set over the weekend. The rapper brought along his OVO crew as he closed out the Saturday, March 19 festivity at Fader Fort.

Dvsn, Roy Woods, Majid Jordan and PARTYNEXTDOOR all performed for the audience before Drizzy showed up on the stage and launched into several of his tracks including "Know Yourself", "Energy", "Big Rings" and "Back to Back". He also teamed up with producer Metro Boomin for "Jumpman" and later ended the night with "Summer Sixteen".

His live performance wasn't the only exciting part of his surprise appearance at the festival. At one point, he teased his anticipated new album, "Views From the 6", telling fans in attendance that their long wait was nearly over. " 'Views From the 6' coming in how many weeks I hope you enjoy that s**t," he said.

Towards the end of his set, he announced his plan to hit the road after putting out his new LP. Details about the tour are currently unavailable, but he's promised he'll return to Austin and visit other cities like Houston and Dallas.
