Scribe James Dashner said the production was not canceled despite the injury sustained by the film's main star.

AceShowbiz - Reports about Dylan O'Brien severely injured on the set of "Maze Runner: The Death Cure" seemed to be overrated. Writer for the film, James Dashner, came up with an update on how fatal the injury was and how it would affect the production.

"I just want to let everyone know that yes, Dylan was hurt, but that he's going to be okay," writer James Dashner said in a series of tweets on late Friday, March 18. "Not life threatening in any way. Production is postponed but certainly not canceled. All that matters now is that Dylan recovers. We love you, Dylan!!!"

O'Brien is in the hospital but the extent of his injury is not yet revealed by his publicist Jennifer Allen. "He will be OK," she said, adding that early reports indicated he would make full recovery. Rumor has it, the actor was ran over by a car while shooting a scene. WorkSafe BC, which investigates works accidents in British Columbia, told EW that they were communicating with 20th Century Fox and producers.

The studio's statement on Friday read, "Dylan O'Brien was injured yesterday while filming Maze Runner: The Death Cure in Vancouver, Canada. He was immediately transferred to a local hospital for observation and treatment. Production on the film will be shut down while he recovers. Our thoughts go out to Dylan for a full and speedy recovery."

"Maze Runner: The Death Cure" is scheduled for February 17, 2017 release. Filming had only begun on March 14 in Cash Creek, California.
