The new Marvel series starring Mike Colter will arrive in September on the streaming service.

AceShowbiz - "Luke Cage" has finally got a premiere date. While attending the red carpet premiere of "Daredevil" season 2, Mike Colter who first portrayed Luke Cage on "Marvel's Jessica Jones" revealed that the spin-off would be released September 30 on Netflix.

"It's gonna be action packed from beginning to the very end. Trust me!" Colter gushed about the new show. He casually added, "I will see the fans on September 30."

"Luke Cage" centers on the title character who, after a sabotaged experiment that leaves him with super strength and unbreakable skin, becomes a fugitive trying to rebuild his life in modern day Harlem, New York City. But he is soon pulled out of the shadows and must fight a battle for the heart of his city--forcing him to confront a past he had tried to bury.

Rosario Dawson reprises her "Daredevil" character Claire Temple, Sonia Braga plays Claire's mom Soledad, Alfre Woodard portrays politician Mariah Dillard, Theo Rossi is cast as career criminal/Luke Cage nemesis Shades, Simone Missick stars as Misty Knight, and Frank Whaley plays Detective Scarfe.
