In a recent interview, the 'Beverly Hills, 90210' alum shut down bankruptcy rumors, saying that she and her family were not bankrupt, not struggling, and they're fine.

AceShowbiz - Tori Spelling has set the record straight on rumors claiming that she's bankrupt. In a recent interview with PEOPLE, the 42-year-old actress cleared things up by stating that her financial condition was fine.

The rumors started to swirl after credit card company American Express sued the "Beverly Hills, 90210" alum for failing to pay a credit card balance in January. According to the lawsuit, Tori was also unable to complete a payment of $1,070 last summer.

"I just want that story to go away!" Tori said of the financial problem rumors. "We're doing a great new series, I'm really happy, we're doing a new show on Cooking Channel - we're not bankrupt, we're not struggling, we're fine!" she stressed.

"[The] kids [are] good, family's good, I'm healthy, finances [are] good," she continued. She also said that she wanted to make sure her children know the value of money, so she started to discuss it although they're still young. "My husband and I work really hard. I mean, I'm constantly out there working. It's so important for my children to see that both their parents are working, and we talk to them about it," she shared. "My kids are like, 'It's not fair, why aren't you home more?' And I explain [things] to them and we talk about money."

Tori, who grew up with her mom and her billionaire father Aaron Spelling, revealed that she didn't have a lot of information about how to handle money when she's young. "Growing up in my family we didn't talk about money a lot," Tori said. "I don't blame anyone, but that probably set me up for not knowing too much about how to handle money a little bit, and I don't want the same thing to happen with my children, so we're open about stuff."

The actress, her husband Dean McDermott and their children now live in a 3,900-square-foot home in California which they rent for $7,500 a month. "We're trying to figure out the area... The kids are in different schools right now: preschool, elementary school, they're moving, so we're trying to find the perfect area," she added. "I mean, it's just a rental, so don't be surprised if we move again, guys!"
