After rumors about Paltrow's involvement got repeatedly denied, the latest issue of Empire magazine confirms that the actress did take part in reshoots for the movie.

AceShowbiz - Just when fans think "Captain America: Civil War" can't be any more crowded, another MCU character has been confirmed to make an appearance. The latest issue of Empire magazine confirms that Gwyneth Paltrow will return as Pepper Potts in the film, which pits the Cap against her man Tony Stark a.k.a. Iron Man.

For quite some time, there have been rumors that Paltrow will be involved in the movie and play a small yet key role. After repeated denials, the magazine reports that that actress did take part in reshoots for the movie, though other details are still unavailable.

In addition to confirming Pott's appearance, Empire magazine shares some info about the movie's "controversial" ending. Director Joe Russo tells the publication that fans can expect a bigger fallout than the previous film, "Captain America: The Winter Soldier".

"The consequences of 'Civil War' will have an even more significant impact [than 'The Winter Soldier']. In 'Civil War', we're going to change the Marvel Cinematic Universe's Psychology, and it's an extreme shift," he explains. "Winter Soldier was a political thriller; this is a psychological thriller." Co-director Anthony Russo goes on to promise a "very dramatic ending that will be controversial for a lot of people."

"Civil War" is set to open in U.S. theaters on May 6. Chris Evans and Robert Downey Jr. are reprising their respective role as Captain America and Iron Man, and are set to be joined by the likes of Scarlett Johansson, Sebastian Stan, Don Cheadle, Elizabeth Olsen, Jeremy Renner, Chadwick Boseman, Emily VanCamp, Frank Grillo, Paul Rudd and Paul Bettany among others.
