The 'FourFiveSeconds' rapper reportedly wasn't happy with the set for his musical appearance and threatened to walk off the show.

AceShowbiz - Did Kanye West have a bad Saturday? Rumor has it, the rapper threw an "epic tantrum" before his performance on "Saturday Night Live" last weekend, on February 13, and threatened to walk off the show.

"Just moments leading into the live show, and during the live show, Kanye had a meltdown and threatened to walk off," a source familiar with the situation tells Page Six. Sources say that the 38-year-old wasn't happy with the "SNL" set for his musical appearance because it only had a video screen and not much else. "It had something to do with the set," says a source.

Another source adds, "He freaked out about how the set was arranged. He was saying he's 'the greatest artist.' He's having regular meltdowns. Everyone's walking on eggshells around him. He's under a lot of stress between the new album and the fashion line."

Meanwhile, another source tells E! News that West was upset because of a last-minute change to his set. "Someone in the crew dismantled his stage without talking to him," the so-called insider claims. "Kanye had an exact look planned for his set...The producers were apologetic to him. There was a miscommunication, things smoothed over and he performed as planned."

A source says that "SNL" boss Lorne Michael and West's wife Kim Kardashian had to calm him down. The source recalls, "Kim, who was in the audience with Kylie Jenner, had to come down. Lorne had to personally talk to Kanye. There were a few really tense minutes" when it looked like West was walking, leaving the live NBC show in the lurch.

While Lorne was "eerily calm" through the incident, other staffers had been thinking about the worst. "They were like, 'If this happens, and he walks, what are we going to do?' " the source adds.

Thankfully, West decided to stay and perform. He delivered "Highlights" and "Ultra Light Beams" off his latest album "The Life of Pablo", which is now available for streaming on Tidal.
