The 'Miss You Already' actress has been added to the ever-growing cast of 'XXX: The Return of Xander Cage' and she will play a bureaucrat in an intelligence service.

AceShowbiz - "XXX: The Return of Xander Cage" crew is gearing up for a production next month and they recently added Toni Collette to the cast of the action movie. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the Australian actress is going to play a bureaucrat in an intelligence service.
The 43-year-old actress will join other cast members including Vin Diesel who will reprise his role as Xander Cage, Samuel L. Jackson, Jet Li, Tony Jaa, "The Vampire Diaries" alumna Nina Dobrev, "Orange Is the New Black" actress Ruby Rose and Bollywood star Deepika Padukone.
Plot details are still scarce, but an insider told the news outlet that the sequel to "XXX: State of the Union" would involve "two teams of badasses that go head-to-head." As previously reported, Diesel will be pitted against Jet Li in the action movie. Meanwhile, it's still unclear if Collette's character is a supporter or antagonist of Diesel's Xander Cage. A source speculated that her character would be similar to Joan Allen's character in "Bourne" movies
D.J. Caruso is helming the project. He has planned on filming in Toronto and the Dominican Republic after shooting some scenes in Philippines last month. The script is written by F. Scott Frazier. Joe Roth and Jeff Kirschenbaum are producing the movie alongside Diesel and Samantha Vincent. An official release date for "XXX 3" has yet to be announced.
