George Clooney Adopts Puppy From Animal Shelter for His Parents

The 'Tomorrowland' actor delivers an adorable puppy to his father and mother as a Christmas gift after the couple lost their terrier.

AceShowbiz - The Clooneys have another addition to their clan. George Clooney has, last December, adopted a rescued terrier named Nate that was born with birth defects. Instead of keeping the dog for him and his wife Amal, he had him delivered to his parents, Nick and Nina, as a Christmas gift.

No one wanted Nate. He had been at the shelter, LuvFurMutts, for 9 months before the actor took him in. "The lowest point came when an adopter cried when she met him and said she would be depressed the rest of her life if she had to look at him every day," the shelter shared on Facebook.

"George picked Nate out, then showed him to his Mom, Nina, on YouTube. She watched his video over and over and she fell in love. He then asked his Father Nick how he felt about the way Nate walks and he replied 'I guess it sounds like he gets around just as good as we do anymore.' Their terrier of ten years had died recently and it seemed that George had a feeling they were ready for a new furry friend."

The shelter continued, "Nina cried a little when she opened the door and Nate was put into her arms. She was very surprised." Nina "cried a little again when she read the card" from her famous son and his lawyer wife.
