The 'Terminator Salvation' director is in negotiations to helm the upcoming adaptation of the Mattel toyland.

AceShowbiz - "Masters of the Universe" remake may find a director sooner rather than later.Joseph McGinty "McG" Nichol ("Charlie Angels", "Terminator Salvation") is reportedly in negotiations to helm the new take on the Mattel toyland. According to Deadline, he is also expected to oversee the script rewrite.

He-Man follows Prince Adam who, when uttering the magic words "By the power of Grayskull - I have the power," turns into a warrior. He must defend his planet Eternia from the evil forces who wants to conquer Castle Grayskull, the place that gives him his superpowers.

The original live-action movie was released in 1987, starring Dolph Lundgren as the hero and Frank Langella as his nemesis. Jon M. Chu was initially attached to direct the remake, but he eventually exited the project to work on the adaptation of "Jem and the Holograms".
