'Arrow' Reveals Felicity's Fate, Teases New Problem in Preview for Next Episode

The latest episode also gives a clue to who is in the grave, whose death is very personal to someone close to Oliver.

AceShowbiz - One cliffhanger was finally solved on "Arrow", which returned on Wednesday, January 20 after over a month. "Blood Debts" revealed the fate of Felicity, who was fatally shot by Damien's henchmen in the midseason finale.

[SPOILER ALERT!] Fortunately, Felicity is alive. She, however, is paralyzed from the waist down due to damage to her spinal cord, which explains why she's in a wheelchair in previously leaked set photos.

The show also ruled out that Felicity could be the one in the grave. In a scene set four months later, Oliver talked to Barry at the cemetery before he got into a car where Felicity had been waiting for him. Looking angry, she tearfully told her fiance, "You know what you have to do, right? You have to kill the son of a b***h."

Judging from her rage, it's possible that it's Felicity's mom Donna (Charlotte Ross) who is dead. She has appeared several times throughout the fourth season and her death would definitely be a major blow to Felicity as well as Oliver.

But before that happens, Felicity will face another issue after surviving the shooting. In a preview for the next episode, she looks overwhelmed by requests given to her when helping Team Arrow in action, to the point that she says, "I can no longer be a part of the team."

"A.W.O.L." airs Wednesday, January 27 at 8/7c on The CW. According to the official synopsis, "Diggle must learn to trust his brother Andy (guest star Eugene Byrd) when an enemy of their wartime past, an agent of the criminal organization Shadowspire, pays a visit to Star City. However, Diggle learns more than he bargained for about their shared time at war. Meanwhile, Oliver has to learn a whole new way of life."

Executive producer Wendy Mericle tells EW how Felicity is going to handle being paralyzed. "She's really grappling with the question of getting through this tragic event and figuring out what her life is going to look like afterward. She knows Oliver has a tendency to revert to [his darker ways]. Despite herself, she's still in shock about what happened, and her focus is going to be mostly, and interestingly, on Oliver and trying to keep him from falling back into this dark hole he's been in the past," she says.

Mericle also denies rumors that Felicity would become Oracle since she's using a wheelchair, assuring fans, "She is not Oracle. We are going to give her a very fun, cool name in a future episode. It's going to be fun. We definitely want to give her a codename. It's been a long time coming, but no, she's not going to be Oracle."
