TV

The actor will appear for the first time on the 11th episode of the first season with the possibility to recur throughout the series.

AceShowbiz - "Ray Donovan" alum Johnathon Schaech has been cast as Jonah Hex on The CW's "DC's Legends of Tomorrow". The actor will make his first appearance as the gunslinger in the 11th episode of the first season and recur throughout the new series.

The character is described as "A true legends of the Old West, a morally ambiguous gunslinger with a penchant for danger. Surprisingly, he knows a thing or two about time travel and the future, but is at home in the Wild West. He's been battling outlaws and gangs for awhile now, and advises the team to be extra careful when they arrive in the small town of Salvation."

Bringing this character into the series was a decision that came with the time travel nature. "...we were eager to do a story set in the Old West," said exec producer Marc Guggenheim last week. "But if you're going to do a story set in the DC Universe version of the Old West, you simply MUST include Jonah Hex in it. We're thrilled about bringing another well known, beloved DC character to television."

Josh Brolin portrayed Jonah Hex in the 2010 movie version which bombed on the box office. It will be the first time the character appears in the live-action DC television universe. "DC's Legends of Tomorrow" will debut Thursday, January 21 at 8 P.M. on The CW.
