'Deadpool' Gets Rave Reviews After Surprise Screenings in N.Y.C. and L.A.

Fans flood Twitter with rave reviews of 'Deadpool' after they were treated to surprise screenings of the R-rated movie in New York City and Los Angeles.

AceShowbiz - 20th Century Fox treated a select group of movie fans in New York City and Los Angeles to surprise screening of "Deadpool" on January 18. The event which was supposedly to preview some footage from the movie turned out to show the entire movie.

The lead actor, Ryan Reynolds, attended the N.Y.C. event to introduce the movie. Meanwhile, the L.A. event was attended by director Tim Miller, co-stars T.J. Miller and Briana Hildebrand, Marvel Comics legend Stan Lee, Deadpool creator Rob Liefeld, screenwriters Rhett Rheese and Paul Wernick.

The movie's official Twitter page posted snaps from the two separate events. One picture showed Ryan striking a pose next to "Deadpool" poster at the N.Y.C. event while the other picture showed the movie crew sitting before the audience at the L.A. event. A caption for the snaps read, "Nothing like a surprise afternoon delight. @VancityReynolds & crew surprised fans w/ a #Deadpool screening tonight."

Responses from fans who attended the events were highly positive. They took to Twitter to tell their followers how "amazing" the movie was. User @keaton who attended the L.A. event wrote, "Deadpool was amazing." Another user @racheljhoward tweeted, "Just saw early screening of Deadpool. The movie is f**king amazing. Everything I was hoping for from the Merc with a Mouth! #deadpool. And like all marvel movies, make sure you wait for the tag at the end of the credits! Self aware and referential, perfect Deadpool."

User @ErickGSinatra said, "#Deadpool was freaking amazing!!!!!! So damn hilarious, so dumb & probably one of my favorite movies!!!! @deadpoolmovie." Another fan @LucasSiegel added, "Well, hell, you guys. They went and made an amazingly awesome, fun, exciting #Deadpool movie. It's outstanding."

In other news, "Deadpool" is banned from China due to its violence, nudity and graphic language. The movie itself gets R rating from the MPAA.

"Deadpool" is a superhero movie which tells the origin story of former Special Forces operative turned mercenary Wade, who agrees to become the subject of a rogue experiment that leaves him with accelerated healing powers. Morena Baccarin, Gina Carano and Brianna Hildebrand joined the cast of the movie. It is set to hit U.S. theaters on February 12.
