The 43-year-old actor implicitly said that there's still a possibility that he would direct a superhero movie in the future.

AceShowbiz - When Ben Affleck signed on to portray the new cinematic version of Batman, people started to ask a question about whether the "Gone Girl" actor would helm a superhero movie like "The Batman". In a recent interview with USA Today, the Dark Knight depicter shared his thought about directing a superhero film and his comments are keeping hope alive.

While there's no clear answer, the 43-year-old actor didn't shut down the possibilities that he would end up directing a superhero movie. "I'll just say going through the process, I would never have imagined that I could or would direct a movie like this," Affleck said. "And in working with ['Batman v Superman' director Zack Snyder] and seeing what he did and watching him every day, I got really inspired by that and by seeing the scope on which he was telling the story, by seeing what he was able to do with this kind of mythic story on a grand scale."

There's a big opportunity for Affleck to direct the Batman solo movie, considering that he has become well known for his directorial projects in recent years. His latest directorial credits were "The Town" and "Argo". He is now working on "Live by Night", which will open next year.

Affleck will make his debut as the Caped Crusader in the upcoming "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice", followed by another appearance in David Ayer's "Suicide Squad" in August and "Justice League Part One".
