Thomas Stringfellow serenades Jennifer Lopez with an Ed Sheeran song, and a former contestant returns for a second chance on the show.

AceShowbiz - The next stop on "American Idol" season 15 auditions was Denver. While there was no standout in the city, most of the talented singers who advanced in the Thursday, January 14 episode were young adults.

Amber Lynn, 28, was the first to get a golden ticket with a soulful rendition of Alan Stone's "Unaware". James VII, 23, performed a bluesy cover of John Legend's "Sun Comes Up" and was sent to Hollywood.

Emily, 25, however, failed to meet the judges' expectation with her performance of Jo Dee Messina's "Bring on the Rain". CJ, 28, came up next and shared his story of how hard it was for him to be a professional musician. He sang Hall & Oates' "You Make My Dreams Come True" and it opened his chance to shine in Hollywood.

Ethan, a 15-year-old with a penchant for country music, sang "Stormy Monday" by The Allman Brothers Band and got a golden ticket although Harry Connick Jr. thought he wasn't ready for the competition. Mary, a 23-year-old horse trainer from Tennessee, also advanced after singing Tammy Wynette's "Til I Can Make It on My Own" although it lacked emotion.

At the Little Rock auditions, 18-year-old Terrian nailed Pharrell Williams' "Happy" and got a ticket. Thomas Stringfellow, 17, serenaded Jennifer Lopez with Ed Sheeran's "Give Me Love" and the judges loved it.

Tank, a dance teacher with a big voice, proved that he's also good at singing. His rendition of Luther Vandross' "Superstar" earned him a golden ticket. John Wayne Schulz, 27, had auditioned before in season 10 but didn't make it to live shows. He now returned and shared his story of losing his mom a few months after his first "Idol" attempt. He sang "The Dance" by Garth Brooks and Harry called it "perfect."

Jordyn, 15, was dubbed a "phenomenon" by the judges following her performance of a Jackson 5 song. Rhea, another 15-year-old contestant, also got a golden ticket with her breathy voice. Jake, 22, was also sent to Hollywood despite his moderate performance because the judges appreciated his strong determination.

Ashley, 20, slayed "Black Velvet", while Andrew, 20, from Moscow took on an Adele song. Both of them advanced. Elvie, 27, pursued his career in music after a dark past with drugs. He sang "House of Rising Sun" and J.Lo liked his "spectacular" voice. He earned a golden ticket and that marked the end of the second week.
